Lafayette District Schools
Controlled Open Enrollment
Lafayette School District accepts applications for enrollment in Grades K - 12 for students wanting to attend our school district from other districts unless grade level capacity is 90% or greater. Individual grade level notes will be made below. The open enrollment window is May 1, 2019 - July 1, 2019. Please familiarize yourself with the Controlled Open Enrollment Plan and the Controlled Open Enrollment Application and Contract.
As of 8/13/2019, LES is currently at 90% or greater capacity for all grade levels and will not be approving any open enrollment applications.
As of 8/13/2019, LHS is currently at 90% or greater capacity in grades 6-10 and will not be approving any open enrollment applications for those grades. We will continue to accept open enrollment applications grades 11 and 12 at this time.
NOTE: The law governing Controlled Open Enrollment changed beginning the 2017-18 school year. If your child was approved to attend school in Lafayette School District for 2018-19 school year, there is no requirement to complete a Controlled Open Enrollment form for the 2019-20 school year UNLESS your child will be going from the 5th grade (Lafayette Elementary School) to the 6th grade (Lafayette High School). If your child resides outside of Lafayette County boundaries and has not been approved to attend this school district the prior year, you will need to complete the Controlled Open Enrollment paperwork and get approved before you can register your child for school in Lafayette County School District.
